Budapest Pride parade

Participants of the Budapest Gay Pride on 6 July. There was the odd skirmish afterwards, and the anti-gay violence of years past still necessitated an eerily massive police presence. This had the effect of cutting not just potential aggressors, but also well-wishers off from getting even near the parade - leaving the participants to march in something of a vacuum. Nevertheless, it seemed the most well-attended and upbeat parade in years, and there was something of a new cheer and confidence in the air.
