Guardian Angel

I don't have any new photos to post today as my computer, negs and hard drive are all packed away with me in Austin, waiting out the storm. I hope my little home in Houston has a guardian angel watching it because starting over is a pain in the butt. I grew up near Galveston, just on the other side of the Causeway, in a little town called Bayou Vista. My dad was mayor for a lot of my childhood, and I remember having to pack up all of the valuables. Put everything else to higher ground, board up the windows...yay when my sister married the heir to a storm blind company and then all we had to do was roll the blinds up!....and then wait it out at one of my sisters' houses in Houston. The only time it was bad was during Alicia in 1983. We got about 8 foot of water in our house that time and I had to stay at my sisters house for a week. She did not have electricity for a few days and I remember they had a gas generator which had two plugs. One for the TV. One for the fan. I remember it being pitch black outside and they made us watch the Exorcist. I hate horror movies. When I did get back home there was debris EVERYWHERE. Heck there was still debris around six months later....
