Rolling Dog Farm~a special place for disabled animals

(Explore: # 451) **** over 1000 Views here in a month !!!!!

Rolling Dog Farm, founded by Steve Smith & Alayne Marker, rescues and shelters disabled dogs and horses.

Exerpt from thier website:

" They come to us from humane societies, animal control shelters and rescue groups across the country, literally from coast to coast. Every animal who arrives at the farm gets another chance to have a safe and loving home."

"Most of our dogs are blind, while some are blind and deaf, and others have neurological and orthopedic issues. Our horses are blind. Although these animals may have disabilities, they do not consider themselves handicapped. They just want to get on with life and enjoy themselves. Thanks to the support of our donors, that's what they get to do here".

The Animals

"Rolling Dog Farm has been home to many different types of disabled animals over the years -- our residents have included blind dogs, blind horses, deaf dogs, blind cats, three-legged dogs and cats, and others with a variety of neurological and orthopedic issues".

"While we focus primarily now on disabled dogs, most of whom are blind, we continue to have a small herd of blind horses, too".

"Our mission is not only to rescue and shelter disabled animals, but also to show that they can have a wonderful quality of life if they’re only given a chance. They get that chance at the farm, thanks to your gifts".

"We have, on average, about forty disabled animals at any one time."

*By the way, I am NOT a paid spokesperson or representative of R.D.F~

just someone who has been following the shelter on line and had donated

as I could. Getting a chance to tour the shelter was inspiring.
