Aerial photograph of Coalinga (near upper left), Fresno County, California. In this view to the southwest one can see sand and gravel quarry (near lower left), one of several oil fields (to the right), and the Chevron Solar Enhanced Oil Recovery site (gray area between quarry and oil field).

wonderful image. I have come to appreciate the aerial views in the past few years. I enjoy the perspective that many do not take the time to even notice. Plus the challenge of actually getting a good shot that is often affected by , atmospheric conditions, reflections, bad sun angle, dirty scratched double pane plexiglass windows, a wing or cloud cover. excellent work.

shottwokill, thank you for the comment. Yes, the aerial views provide a more synoptic view; and, yes, there are all those challenges, and more. This image was acquired from a commercial plane, flying from San Jose to Ontario. The fog in the upper-left part of the image was present for the next about 20 minutes of flight, but then cleared over the Antelope Valley and San Andreas Fault.
