Highline Trail Gigapan

My most recent effort at a GigaPan image which can be panned and zoomed at

gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=7647

This was taken over the weekend while hiking the Highline trail outside of Pine, AZ. This was one of the biggest sweeps I have tried, I think it is close to a 200 degree view, and the distortion makes the trail almost bend back on itself. This one was made up of 154 full rez images (7 rows by 22 columns, yet still weighs in at only 0.29 Gigapixels,

It did manage to chew up my camera battery life so there are no more photos from the trip!

The clouds came in and made for pretty flat light except the bit on the far right where the sun came out while it was still shooting.

Just for fun, I tossed my hat in the photo- makes me wonder a bit about possibility of creating a scene that would have fragments or scatterings of items that might lend themselves to some creative storytelling or puzzle to be solved.

Hmmm..
