Ontario Northland Railroad, North Bay, Ontario

Ontario Northland's "Northlander" at North Bay, Ontario -- one of four RAm/DE train sets retired from the Trans Europe Express -- purchased in 1977 but were not entirely successful -- engines scrapped in 1984 but passenger cars survived until early 1990's.

Wow, I remember riding one of the last ex-TEE trains out of Toronto when I was a little kid, I thought they were neat with the compartments. The train I was one, the F-unit suffered an engine fire and the train was being pulled by a freight unit, I can't remember but I think it was either a GP38-2 or an SD40-2.

One train set and an additional cab car are back in the Netherlands now. It will be rebuilt to the 1950's TEE version.

Unfortunately the power car is missing. Plans are to build a new one with engines that were used in a lock complex.
