Ultramarines Terminator

Newer Older

Comparison to the Bolter and Chainsword Terminator Painter model. The added perspective in the render makes the head look too big, but it is comparable if viewed differently.

Inspired by Jerac.

Dude... that's pretty incredible. I'm tempted to try to make one in bricks. :)

I always knew that helmet would work great as a terminator head. : )

Would love you to try - give me a shout if you'd like a breakdown ;)

Thighs are a bit too skinny. I would use one of these:

And attach a stud to it. Other than that, it's amazing ;)

Thanks! Agreed that the thighs need a wee bit more work, but the 1x1 with 1 stud wouldn't work - the T piece is inserted into the back of a headlight brick in this version, and the 1x1 tile with clip attached to the front - the only way to retain the connectivity would be to use a 1x1 brick with 4 studs, but that would make the thigh much longer.

For the head, add another plate below the cheese slopes to make the raised head cavity more apparent.

  13. Becheman 40 months ago | reply

Hmmm, that could work, although I was going for as compact a version as possible - I think that the massive GW "head box" can be reduced somewhat. As the UFO head needs to be 1 plate higher due to the projecting face plate, the other version's (Captain and Chaplain) heads are lower - they look more in-proportion, IMHO.

    Can I haz breakdown? :)

  15. Becheman 40 months ago | reply

Absolutely - I'm going to see if I can get LPub to work - might take a while, but hopefully the result will be easier to read ;)

  16. pasukaru76 40 months ago | reply

Fine by me... LPub itself shouldn't cause too much trouble, for me I find most of the work is getting the build steps right in MLCAD. It can be a bit tricky to get the basic settings for LPub right. I'll send you a flickr mail with the settings I just copy into my ldr files as a starting point.

Making instructions for this is going to be a labour of love, as I didn't include any steps in the original build :( I'll post the instructions when I can face digging through the model again!

Looking forward to the instructions on this guy.

That powerfist is gorgeous. Good helmet use too. Works well.
