Archduke, male Lexias pardalis

    Newer Older

This impressive butterfly was found resting on plant leaves on a forest trail in Khao Luang National Park, near Khao Yai, Peninuslar Thailand in February 2012. It has a range from NE India through Myanamar, Thailand to The Philippines. Very similar to Black-tipped Archduke but it has the yellow tips to the antennae in both maes and females.

Beautiful! Should be The Archduke (Lexias pardalis), see the red tips of the antennae.
