Crested Francolin, Francolinus sephaena sephaena

This species has a huge range across Eastern Africa. This race can be found from e. Zimbabwe to se Botswana and ne South Africa. A covey were seen well in Nylsvlei Nature Reserve, just S of Polokwane, Mpumalanga.
