Home grown geisha article
I came across this article a few years ago and found it quite interesting. Clearly the author did not do thorough research as they open with the line "A Melbourne woman is the first foreigner to become a geisha in Japan", when most geisha enthusiasts know that it was Liza Dalby that was the first. What I think they were trying to get across is that she entered this as a form of research that has now turned into her current chosen career. Therefore she is the first foreigner to have a career as a geisha.
