A Stocking Webcap (Cortinarius)

The rounded cap of the stocking Webcap is greyish brown and finely streaked with darker fibres. The broad, widely spaced gills are rust-brown and smell of ripe pears, while the robust stem is brown with cream to buff covering of veil rather like nylon stockings. The brownish flesh is faintly violet at the top of the stem.
