Cannon Street and station, London 1939
A marvellous view looking east from the south side of the street just outside Cannon Street station - the Underground ticket hall just to the right and the main line station sitting above the block. There's shops and signs galore - a hairdressers, advertising Stern's Permanent Waving, opticians and an unusual 'open' canopy for the Underground. A pair of newspaper vendors sell their wares on what looks to be a breezy day in the City. This is I'm sure an 'official' photo I've picked up over the years.
