Rua da Felicidade, known as “Street of Happiness” in English, was once a popular nightlife and red light district in Macau during 1930s to 1940s.
Rua da Felicidade is an old street which is located in southwest of Macau peninsula. It connects with few allies nearby, from Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, and formed the heart of the old inner district in Macau. As one of the oldest streets in Macau, the high historic values are preserved well and can be found everywhere in this narrow street. Two–storey buildings in Chinese Lingnam style were constructed along the roadsides, with charming red awnings, window frames, grey brick façade and the top of the walls are decorated with plaster ornaments features.
