Mango Crab Gazpacho!

    Newer Older

I'm very happy with the recipe and mostly happy with the photo. In retrospect, I should have chosen chips or bread with greater color contrast to the yellowish plate, but oh well :). Story and recipe on my blog.

Very summery looking! I like the shapes of the plates and mug in this lay out.

PS: Actually the background reminds me of Donna Hay :D

I see this image as a clean, well calculated, safe, geometrical shot. The different circles repeated all over in different sizes, only the crackers brake this pattern. Nice summer colors.

I love the soft blue color background. The best part is on the gazpacho in the cup, well stylish. Agree with you about the color of the bread. It would look much better if you could've used brown color of bread. :)

I think the chips look great. The colors here are wonderful, like said, the circular patterns are broken up by the jagged edges of the crackers.

      Jen, thank you very much!

Vera, you know it's funny I didn't really get to plan this shot much at all and ended up doing something different from the rough idea I did have. The small bowls at the top, which contribute a lot to the circles were actually there for styling purposes entirely and I decided to add them to the shot on a whim. I'm not sure if "safe" is a drawback since I usually like to be more adventurous, but thanks for your comment!

Tika, thanks for your input. I'm glad you like the cup -- I hoped it would be a bit fun and fresh :).

Sylvie, I'm glad the chips look good to you :). This soup has such a refreshing summery taste, I'm glad it comes through in the photo!

      Edda, thanks!

I didn't mean safe as something negativ at all. Safe is homey, something I can easily relate to for example.

Circles – nice styling idea. Petit cubes and circles together – very nice!

A quater of a cucumber sandwich on pumpernickel bread would have looked beautiful with this shot. This looks really delicious!
