Beautiful colors and light. I like the kinda vintage setting, fits the pears perfectly.

Noticed this instantly in the thumbnail. Love all those rich, burnished hues. Great comp.

Nice still life! It's a creative composition to see it from above. If you don't mind me saying, I do think it might be even better with a bit more on the left side.

Very balanced image. Like the way you've arranged the pears. It creates a melody that is slightly humorous. It contradicts well the otherwise serious, no-nonsense, set. And makes the image interesting, suprising and of its own kind. There is something very passionate about this picture, but in a hidden sense.

Thanks, you all! As soon as I saw these pears, I knew I had to do justice to their lovely rich tones. Glad to hear that the setting is working for you guys.

lionespa - Thanks for your input. I always appreciate constructive criticism :). While I see your point, it was my intention to leave the left edge of the pan out of the frame. My thinking was to make the image a bit more dynamic and not so symmetrical.

Laksmi - I appreciate your thoughtful and detailed comment :). I'm so glad that you see passion in this photograph. It's a bit silly, but I was thinking of the pears as couples while I captured this. One pair is happily settled, whereas the other pair is still in the chasing stage of their relationship hehe.

I see body parts here :-) Don't ask me which ones or of which spieces, I have no idea. I'm not very good at anatomy :-) It was just my initial association. Thus, the passion.

Lol! I wasn't quite thinking in that direction, but I see what you mean ;p.

Beautiful shot, I love the textures and the colours. Love the shapes of the pears, but if only I was as imaginative as Laksmi to visualise body parts....!

I just saw Laksmi's comment above and your reply and am so glad you see them that way! I find myself smiling involuntarily looking at shapes and building up stories with them and it so often happens with fruits and vegetables, esp. vanilla pods. I like the piece of gurny you have used. Will try it soon on my maroon background. It looks vibrant and earthy. Beautiful! The pan you have used caught my eye! I haven't seen these in India.

Thanks, Harini! I definitely try to enjoy the everyday when I can. There are stories to found everywhere when you take the time to look. I used one of a set of vintage copper pans I bought online.
