    The long beans cut into two inch pieces boiled and allowed to simmer in a slow fire with coconut oil and salt goes well with rice as a side dish especially in Kerala households. Further adding slices of peeled green plantains cut into four pieces quarter inch thich and skinned yam pieces of the same size as plantains boiled along with the ong beans makes it a tasty vegetable.
