The Female Evening Grosbeak

    Newer Older

hmmm...Lady of the Evening ? First of year for me, a brief visit to my feeders but did not partake. Moments later the finches arrived, a pair of males, also did not partake or stay. Must have been a quick layover on the migratory highway north.

      Excellent shot.
Yup, their beaks are huge. I love her bright green beak.
I didn't know until last year that their beaks changed color in the spring.
