My Dream Boy
I have dreamed about owning a Sasha doll since I first saw them in the 70s! ( I'm sure my sister had a baby Sasha doll). Gregor- the official name for boys of this skin tone- arrived earlier this week. Here he is dressed in his original jumper and jeans. He has his sandals too- although a strap is missing from one- but he is wearing his new sneakers in this photo. I should have done a bit of reasearch before I bought him. Apparently brunette hair has a tendancy to fall out- something to do with the strong dye used- and it is inadvisable to wash it. My Gregor's hair isn't too bad- apparently it can go brittle- but it was stuck right up in the air at the front when I got him. I trained a hot hair dryer on it and it has flattened. He looks as if he might have had a slight hair cut at some stage in his life. He has an interesting history. His early years were spent in Switzerland- and many of those he spent as a girl! He has a lovely wardrobe of frocks. Unfortunately he does smell slightly of cigarette smoke- no wonder sellers on ebay dont say 'from a smoke filled home'- they wouldn't sell anything! But it's not half as bad as it was before I bathed him and his clothes. Still, as I'm not of an age to want to hug and kiss him all the time- or want to snuggle up to him at bedtime, I can live with it! Anyway- he's gorgeous!!!
