Dylan's Hello Kitty quilt
Completed in July 2010. Photographed in October 2010 on a windy day:)
I was pretty impressed when my boyfriend showed me that he owned a Hello Kitty sticker calendar (circa 2008 or something like that). It has a pretty adorable sheet of stickers in the back for occasions like "dentist visit" or "shopping trip".
So when I saw that Liberty of London had paired with Sanrio to produce this Hello Kitty town design, I quickly ordered some. Karen at www.washimatta.com was nice enough to go out in search of this fabric especially for me!
For the design, I used Oh, Fransson's! Scrappy Hedgerow Blocks. The colours in the Liberty print are actually kind of hard to match, and by a painstaking process, I ultimately ended up with the traditional Hello Kitty colours of pink, yellow, red and blue. I used relatively few prints of each colour, as I had not yet discovered fabric swapping at the time;)
