Parquet floor quilt

My mom's flying home to visit her family, so of course I had to take up more than my share (what share?) of her luggage with some quilts to take back. I decided to send back my recently finished Irish Chain quilt. Once the binding was on that, I then immediately got to work on cutting up the yellow FQs I won from the Stitched in Color purge-along over the summer (thanks so much, Marmalade Fabrics!), as well as a bunch of yellow prints, white solids and low-volume scraps from my stash (or Robin's stash if we're talking about the low-volume scraps!). It's just another lap-sized quilt, hanging lopsidedly on the bed in my old room for the sake of snapping a photo. I am totally certain the "inspiration" for this pattern comes from the parquet floor in my apartment:)

I told my mom she could give the quilts to whomever, although I did intend them for two cousins of mine who have just started their very own little families. We'll have to see what my mom comes up with;)

(I also whipped up a Wiksten Tova for my mom just in the nick of time, and I can't wait to upload those pics. Up next, I received the bias trim I purchased for my Liberty Single Girl quilt, which is gonna take forever to bind. Annnd I'm starting to think about small holiday gift items to sew. Ahhh!)
