I made this quilt for my Grandma Rosealma on the occasion of her 85th birthday on Christmas Eve 2010. The quilt is 67"x51" and has 300 squares. This quilt was a long time in the making, I started cutting the squares for it up to a year and a half ago! It was a satisfying finish as I even had the hand stitched tag on and the entire quilt laundered before I gave it to her. I used Kona medium pink for the binding and peony for the backing and alternated the use of Kona white and bone on the front of the quilt. The pink squares are made up of many designer fabrics as well as some vintage fabrics and scraps. I quilted on the diagonal in some cases with a single, double or even triple line. I allowed myself to go more modern on the back of the quilt and Gram says she loves both sides and currently uses it as a coverlet on her bed switching the side every couple of days. I only live four blocks from her and so she let me borrow the quilt to take some pics as I didn't take any in the rush to gift it to her on time.
