OPINIONS NEEDED!!!!!! Fresh Comfort 2 Blocks Laid Out

Should I have sashing or not in this quilt? These are all of the blocks that I have received so far from the participants of Fresh Comfort 2 (thank you for the wonderful blocks!!!!!!). If I choose to have sashing it will be Essex Linen/Cotton Blend in Natural OR Charcoal/Coal Kona Cotton. Thanks for your opinions! This picture is missing 10 blocks (made by me) if there is no sashing it is missing 22 blocks. This will be a twin sized quilt to go on my bed.

CHOICE MADE!!!!

Thanks for all the comments, I am going to go with the Kona Charcoal sashing...I still have 7 blocks to make and then I can start sashing away, more pics to come! (I still have to buy the sashing too, kind of important.)

    No sashing!

    lovely quilt!
i say yes to the sashing, but not tooooo thick, and throw a colourful binding on that beauty :)
  • simple girl, simple life 4y

I think either way would be beautiful because the blocks are so stickin' AWESOME! But, ...since I can't see it with the sashing I guess I love it without
  • Treaka 4y

I say no sashing, but I would do a big fat super thick border of a solid neutral. Like, an 8 or 10 inch border.
  • Pat Deck 4y

Love it!!! What a happy happy set of blocks! No sashing. You don't want to fence in the exuberance.
  • Penny 4y

Cut some dark sashing, lay it on the quilt , photo, and we can vote again! I think I will like it either way, though I tend to agree with Pat Deck and the exuberance statement.

I have other pics in my stream showing the quilt with the little bit of sashing fabric that I have so check them out if you would like to see this quilt spaced for sashing and with some samples

I say sashing in charcoal. Normally I like the wild look of no sashing but these blocks are so intricate and I think they'll lose their "specialness" if they're all mashed together.
  • Meghan 4y

I like them laid out without the sashing, but I think that on a twin-size scale, you may need the sashing to break it up and give the eye some rest. Or maybe a border or two?
  • What Comes Next 4y

after looking at your options in your photo stream, I say no to sashing!
  • paper starfish 4y

I love this and you can't go wrong but I love the idea of Kona Coal sashing. I'm actually sashing with it right now myself! ;)
  • Shannon Hillinger 4y

I love it with no sashing. I think it would interrupt the flow of the quilt on this one.
  • jenny mae 4y

i looked at your pics with options and love the grey! whatever you do, it will be GORGEOUS!!
  • Mary Bakija 4y

I'm another vote for no sashing! Since you'd have to make more blocks to make it the size you want without sashing, if making more of the same blocks would be tedious, maybe consider a different style of blocks that would create a border? Like, wonky stars or something. If it's going to be a fun quilt, may as well go all in :) Whatever you decide, this is going to be lovely!

    sash in grey
  • Kellie C. 4y

This is going to be fabulous with that charcoal sashing! Can't wait to see the finished product!
  • Viviana Carali 4y

    Muy bello... se ve divertido!
  • Lisa Stokes 4y

I agree with your sashing decision. It will gives the eyes a place to rest and along each block to shine without competing with its neighbours.
