What Willow Remains...Remain

When I first arrived at the place I call home some 21 years ago, there were three large Willows down by the pond's edge...they drank from springs...keeping the waters hidden below the surface...the growth was lush...all was in balance. Over the years three became two...then one...then part of one...the last living section split in two on July 27, 2018 during a storm. There, the branches lay...broken and in the pond...not bothering anyone...except me...so I cleaned up what I could. What remained stood...but not tall...not strong...a mere shell of it's former self...I saw tormented souls trapped within....rotting into oblivion...no sign of life in the roots dissected. The Spring Waters have resurfaced...surrounding the lifeless with sustenance ignored...the Black Walnut tree shed tears in the form of fallen leaves way too early in the Season...that's what I said...and I will let what remains be...until if falls again.

Thanks to everyone who viewed this image...I am humbled. A special thanks to those who faved it. If I did not return your fave, please forgive me...it was an oversight on my part...I am very thankful for them.
