San Francisco Forktail (rare, endangered)

San Francisco Forktail (rare, endangered), Fort Point, Presidio, San Francisco CA

"One of the rarest damselflies in the United States, the San Francisco forktail (Ischnura gemina) belongs to the order Odonata, a group of insects which includes dragonflies and damselflies. Although the current global population of the San Francisco forktail is unknown, the rarity of this species places it at high risk of extinction in the wild."
