New Zealand Cricket Umpires Association

Cricket umpiring can be a long and difficult task. The Umpires Companion, issued by the New Zealand Cricket Umpires Association provides guidance on a range of issues umpires have to deal with, such as the appropriate dress code, working with other umpires and how to avoid making mistakes.

This guide is part of a file transferred to Archives New Zealand by the Ministry of Recreation and Sport. The file is from 1985. We are unsure as to when the Umpires Companion was published. The file is from a series of submissions related to the Sports Development Committee. This file can be seen in the Reading Room at Archives New Zealand in Wellington.
