Try Pots, Salamanca Place.

Try pots were used on whalers to render the oil from the blubber of the whales. These two remaining examples are on display at Salamanca Wharf in Hobart, linking us with our past, when whaling was a major income earner for the colony of Van Diemens Land. This area was the main port of Hobart area and the warehouses in the rear of the shot were at one stage, in grave danger of being demolished.

These days it is a vibrant part of Hobart life, with fine eateries, and galleries the full length of the street.
