Henrhyd falls on the river Nant Llech tumbles 90ft (27metres) over a single drop of sandstone known as Farewell rock - into a narrow gorge.
Sir William Edmond Logan discovered fossilised trees at the base of the falls which are now exhibited outside swansea Museum.
