Shot this in Old Town Alexandria. Memorial Day Weekend is a very interesting time to be in the DC area, in large part because of the Rolling Thunder parade. A lot of people don't realize it anymore, but Rolling Thunder is a nonprofit organization that was created in 1987 to raise awareness about missing soldiers from the Vietnam War. Every year they conduct an annual motorcycle ride in honor of missing soldiers from Vietnam. The name "Rolling Thunder" comes from the continuous bombing campaign of North Vietnam in 1965.
400,000 veterans ride their motorcycles to DC every year for Rolling Thunder.
