Black Crowned Night Heron Eating Asian Swamp Eel Royal Palm, Everglades National Park

This photo shows the first documented record of an Asian Swamp Eel in Everglades National Park according to Jeff Kline Fisheries Biologist with E.N.P. The eel was brought into the country to supply the local Oriental food market with a traditional live eel and was released into canals in Dade County and is rapidly spreading. Photo was taken at the end of the Anhinga Trail late in the evening. Thanks for looking at our images and all your wonderful comments.
