Turville - Cobstone Mill

Cobstone Mill which overlooks Turville is a smock mill built around 1816. It ground cereals until the 1870s when it fell into disrepair.

In 1967 it was partially restored and became the workshops of Caractacus Potts in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Susequently it was bought by Hayley Mills who restored it with husband Roy Boulting.

It is now privately owned but has featured in episodes of the New Avengers and Midsommer Murders amongst others.
