Fossil Free UC taking action at the University of California Regents Meeting in Sacramento. After a year and a half of campaigning, negotiations and escalating actions, the regents announced publicly that they will be forming a task force for responsible investment to analyze divestment and our likely to vote on the issue in September.

Students took action outside and inside the building and only 8 students (out of the 20 that signed up) were allowed into the meeting room during the public comment period even though there were seats available. Students quickly reacted and created signs to show the media they were being silenced.

Governor Jerry Brown, who is a regent and attended the meeting stated he would be open to "some targeted divestment."
