Bauchi State, Nigeria

- An orchard planted about 7 month ago for the 10/10/10 event was finally unveiled yesterday at exactly 4:32 pm Nigerian time at Government Girls Unity College, in the city of Bauchi, Northern Nigeria. The orchard unveiled by the Federal controller, Federal Ministry of Environment who represented the senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District. He was accompanied by the district head of Bauchi (Traditional Title Holder), Hon. Commissioner of Environment, Hon. Commissioner of Tourism and Culture, Honorable Commissioner of Education etc. Youth from GGC Bauchi and some selected communities within Bauchi town were in attendance.

One thing that captured our mind was the statement of commitment made by the State Director of School services Mrs. Asma'u Fate where said "as from Monday 11th October, 2010, the climate change clubs members would be given 5 minutes each week to speak to and enlighten their peers about climate change".

- Forward in Action for Conservation of Indigenous Species and Leadership (FACIS) also conducted a 2-day training workshop on Climate Change: Mitigation & Adaptation for 40 youth to commemorate 10/10/10 in Bauchi State (9th - 10th Oct. 2010)

- We also planted trees in G.G.C Bauchi state
