Grammy Jane's Chicken and Dumplings
Jane cuts up a chicken and boils it with onion and celery. When the chicken is cooked, she strains out and picks the meat. The dumplings are a short dough made with flour, salt, butter and water. The dumplings are rolled, cut and cooked in the chicken broth. When the dumplings are cooked, the picked chicken meat is added back to the broth. Salt and pepper are the only seasonings.
