Poe Events in Philadelphia February 21-22, 2009

by Ellen Datlow

John Langan, Laird Barron, and I made a road trip down to Philadelphia where we met up with Gregory Frost for two readings/events publicizing Poe, the new anthology of stories inspired by E.A. Poe.

On Saturday Edward Pettit talked about Poe and introduced Laird Barron, John Langan, and Gregory Frost as they each read excerpts from their stories. There was wine during the event.

Afterwards, Helen McKenna graciously gave us a tour of the Poe House --some of the photos are from that.

Sunday afternoon we headed to Between Books, a wonderful, large bookstore in Delaware owned by Greg Schauer where they had a Poe cake made with the book cover decorated in icing (see above).
