New Holland Honeyeater 22/08/09

You can tell when its mid winter in Canberra, all the Wattle trees start to flower and the air becomes saturated with their scent. (Although it,s not much fun for hay-fever sufferers.) The blossom also attracts a number of Honeyeater species to feed from them and the New Holland Honeyeater is one of my favorites because they are so common.

In the JWNR they seem quite used to people and will often allow a very close approach.
