Sunrise at Deadvlei

Deadvlei (translates as "Dead Marsh") is a mind blowingly eerie and stunning white salt clay pan that formed over a thousand years ago. Due to climate changes that then occurred, drought hit the area, the marsh began dry out and the skeletons of trees that grew within preserved as relics of a different era. It was quite humbling to photograph this location. Surrounded by enormous, rusty-red sand dunes and filled with amazing textures, it really belies the imagination.
