O sweet temptation Project 365 Day 328

Classy people give you classy presents. This tin of chocolate delights came from our Spanish neighbours, Pepe, Eladia and Eladia along with a bottle of wine. Surprisingly, although the wine was Spanish, the chocolates are not and neither was the card they gave us. Both were in fact French in origin.

The gavotte is of course a folk dance. However Gavottes Crepe Dentelles, as you probably know, are chocolate crêpes rolled into thin crispy biscuits, which can be served with desserts, mousses or ice-creams, and are very common anywhere in France. Originally, they were a speciality from Quimper in Brittany.

Although they can be eaten as they are, Gavottes can also be used in place of feuillantine when they are crushed and melted with chocolate, hence giving crunchiness to many desserts and cakes.

Luckily in this tin there are two layers, one milk chocolate and the other dark. Pam likes milk chocolate and I dark so we can see at a glance who has eaten the most! We are neck and neck at the moment.
