Checkers anyone?

I used 34 of the rectangles, trimming the rectangle into two 2 1/2" squares, for the checkerboard. I trimmed 8 rectangles to 4 1/2" X 2 1/2", and added them end to end, for the top and bottom border.

I added about 1/4 yard of the black and white print for the narrow borders and the binding.

I used a piece of leftover oriental print, little less than 1/2 yd for the backing.

finished size 16 1/2" X 23"

This is fully functional checkerboard. I put a piece of interfacing between the batting and the board so the checkers would lie flat when playing the game.
