This morning got off to an exciting start with a small fire that started in the kitchen. The time was about 6:15 am and Fredrick and I were talking in the lounge when we heard a loud POP... When I turned I saw orange reflected on the side of the coffee machine. We went to the kitchen and when Fredrick opened the door there was a fire about 4 feet tall and the room was filled with smoke. Fredrick spun, grabbed the fire extinguisher and pulled the pin. I held the door as he put out the fire. Fredrick remained calm and professional while putting out the fire, calling the fire brigade and evacuating the hotel. Meanwhile I went around and opened the doors and windows to begin the airing out process, After checking to be certain the fire was OUT. After about an hour and a half we were allowed back in. I KNOW Fredrick Saved the building from an uncontrolled and costly fire.
This was after we were allowed back into the hotel. Fortunately this piece of equipment went unused due to Fredrick's quick and decisive actions.
