Otter, set of 8

Whilst walking along the river last week, looking at the ducks, Kingfisher, Gulls, and Little Egrets, to my suprise this Otter popped up!

It shouldn't have really been a surpise as such, as they are well known there, but I didn't expect to see it 2pm in the afternoon!

I was totally unprepared with camera settings and testing my new lens badly, and shaking with excitement to boot!

But what a fantastic sight. Quite honestly never seen anything like it, or heard anything like it. The Gulls were swooping on the Otter and the Otter was screaming at them. It was really amazing to hear the Otter version of naff off lol.

As you can see, the Otter was trying to pop up where there was weed, and it never surfaced for long at all each time to avoid the swooping gulls. They are so quick!

It's a lovely sight to see Otters in the wild. Rivers are now getting very clean and wildlife benefits. I can't imagine many better ways to spend council tax than improving green spaces for all. It's fantastic for the wildlife, and great for us to be able to de-stress, re-focus and be able to enjoy what life has to offer for free, providing that we continue to look after it. :)
