Sometimes life kicks you in the butt in a way you never held for possible.
2 Weeks ago, in the evening, I felt a strange pain between my shoulders and I decided to go to the hospital.
At first they could not find anything, but during a check of my hart they saw damage to my aorta. It had nothing to do with my complaints but it was an immediate life threat. A few hours later I was on the operating table where they replaced a part of the aorta and the valve between the aorta and the hart.
Later the hart surgeon told me that the damage was so severe that if I had not walked in I would probably not have lived for very long.
So I was extremely lucky :-).Only now, being at home again, it slowly starts to sink in.
