A-line skirt tutorial
All you need:

2 1/3 yds fabric (or less for a shorter skirt if you fold your fabric selvage to selvage)

30-45 minutes

(double click each photo to make it bigger and read its description)

NOTE: if you're a skinny-minnie you might want to add less than 4" to the hip measurement. 2.5-3" might be more appropriate for you.

ANOTHER NOTE: To help determine the width needed for the hem, wrap a tape measure around your legs at the point you'd like the hem to be while spreading your legs in a "giant step".

I like a full, wide hemline. But then, I like my skirts long. A shorter skirt will not require such a wide hemline.
