Muskrat High Five

The way this little fella was raising and lowering his hind legs while he was enjoying his tasty meal, I was tempted to title it Muskrat Falls ... And Rises. :-)

Guess it would have picked up a few hits on Google though if I had used that in the tags section. :-) That'd be sort of an inside pun ... specific to this province. In recent days, Nalcor Energy, owned by the Newfoundland authorities, and privately-owned Emera, a subsidiary of Nova Scotia Power have entered into a partnership agreement to develop Muskrat Falls in Labrador. It will be a a US $6.1 billion hydroelectric development.

Don't know how we will fare with this deal. But, it should definitely be better than we did with Joe Smallwood's (a former premier) shameful giveaway of the Upper Churchill power to Quebec in the late '60's - early 70's. After it is completed in 6 years (supposedly), this province's energy will be almost totally green (98% coming from hydroelectic power).

By the way, it really does have five toes on that hind foot ... you just can't see the fifth one. If you look closely, you can also see its tail under the ice.

Saw this just a short while ago. A pleasant surprise.
