Defending the Nest

Male red-winged blackbird guarding the nest. Most blackbirds will fly away when you get within 20 feet or so. This one would take off and then return to the same spot to scold me again. Seemed like he was being very protective of his little bit of marsh. So somewhere down there were some little blackbird chicks! Bonny Lake, CO
