The Cathedral of Agios Ioannis Theologos and the early Christianic basilica.
The church of Agios Ioannis belongs to the cross-in-square type of church with a dome and it was build during the 13th century on top of the ruins of the early Christianic Basilica. It was the early Christianic basilica of Avlopotamos episcopate during the second Byzantine period (961-1204) and the cathedral of the same Episcopate during the Venetian invasion (1204-1669). Wall paintings are preserved at the recess of the dome of the vestry.
After a decision of the Ministry of Culture, published on the Official Government Gazette 1230/Second Issue/3-12-98, it has been declared as an ancient monument.
