This is one of the 3 shots I actually enjoyed taking at this awkard shooting location on today's Photoshoot, which all happened to be silhouettes. The sun was definitely working against me when I saw this shot, and I was determined to fight it til I get it right. This is actually a basketball court right next to the Korean Bell of Friendship and Pavilion, which resides right off the edge of the hill where you have a clear view of the sea.
Behind the picture is an insanely huge cloud that's going to bring us rain the next week, and the sun hitting on the court and the clouds hard. With all the elements working against my poor D50, I think I somehow managed to get this o'mighty kingdom come get down on your knees and watch the angels descend type of feeling... ahh, maybe I had too much coffee last night. The original looks quite like this one actually, except I had to apply my few little tricks to bring out the focus of the picture a bit. It enhances the dramatic feeling that I was trying to capture.
On a side note, this place looks kind of like the ultimate street basketball tournament stage for some video games... :-)
