Path of Brightness
note for self: Walking about the Japanese Garden in Huntington Library I stumbled across a small patch of bamboo with this interesting wooden walkway, and I struggled to capture a nice view. With limited ammo (only had 1 memory card that day) I managed to take several shots, and somehow I think I got this one right.
I was really trying to capture a ray of light going through the bamboo, but there really isn't much bamboo for the limited amount of light to shoot through and there's no mist 3pm in the afternoon. But I guess the patch of bamboo on the right somehow casted a nice angle of shadow that suggested the ray of light, but is a pleasant surprise for me the way this turned out. I find myself composing when I'm shooting through the viewfinder lately, maybe that's a sign of improvement from beyond the point of being saved from a cropping idiot? ;-)
By the way, thanks all this is one of my submissions that marked my 3,000th view! Hurray! :-)
