I gather that this is just a single image taken with an extreme wide- angle lens?

    5. @HotpixUK -Add Me On Ipernity 500px 58 months ago | reply

No its 3 x 28mm wide angle shots stitched together. Taken on tripod to make it easier to join.

So, is there a bend in the canal at this point or is that just what the 28mm lens has done?

    7. Jaypeg 58 months ago | reply

I really like this one, I like the composition and the way the river bends

Wardie, the path and canal is straight, but I have covered about 180 degress of scene here. Curvature of image causes the strange bending as the wall is very close to the tripod and 28mm lens.

      hope that explains it!

Tony, thanks for your testimonial. I've seen your photos - you're really talented artist. You've wonderful panoramas collection. I'm beginner photographer yet, but I like your photos. Sorry for my bad English...

And Why it is impossible to look your panoramas in the full size?

I love the bend you put in the panorama. It really takes advantage of the river's curvature.

    13. @HotpixUK -Add Me On Ipernity 500px 54 months ago | reply

The bend is caused by me being at the junction of two paths, the left curve is looking up the canal and the right, looking the opposite way.

Wonderful work here, Tony, just gorgeous. All your work is stunning. Great job.

Nice work Tony. You might want to use Photoshop to straighten the lines of the building (distortion) and you can use Viviza to balance the colors of the left/right corners of the sky. :)
      Just a few tips.

Cheers Kelly, when I have time I may have a play with that!

      Thanks you.
