November 1 is All Saints Day, also known in some traditions as the Day of the Dead. As is a tradition in many parts of the world, people light candles to honor deceased children, loved ones, and relatives. So in my own way, I wanted to honor loved ones we have lost in our family, and also honor friends and relatives of friends who have passed to their next lives. So I set out in the morning to reach the peak of the tallest mountain in the area so I could be closer to the sky as I lit a candle for those who have left us. The top of Mount Hamilton is over 4200 feet above sea level and also hosts the Lick Observatory. The view from the peak is breathtaking, as you can see in this stitched panorama. This is the view looking north-east from the top of the mountain - be sure to look at this large or original...

I typically upload in small sets - don't just look at the latest one in my photostream as you might be missing something you'll like more.... and your comments are ALWAYS welcome :)
