Ancient Totem pole of Gitanyow

Totem pole in the Canadian First Nation village of Gitanyow ( previously called Kitwankool). Generally associated with the Gitxsan speaking people, the people of Gitanyow are an independant tribe.

The totem poles here are carved in Cedar trunks. Some of the poles in Gitanyow are 150 years old.
